If you were to schedule 3 pet sitting visits per day at $19 per visit, you would pay $57 per day. For an additional $31 ($57 + $18 = $75), your critters spend at least 12½ hours with the pet sitter.

  • Availability is limited.
  • There is a $10.00 per visit fee during holiday periods. See below for additional holiday fee details.

Consultation appointments:

Consultations are provided at no charge.

Fuel Surcharge:

With the price of gas for regular unleaded increasing daily, regretfully it has become necessary for us to charge a fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be passed along directly to our pet sitters to help them with the burden of high fuel costs. I devised our rates with the following costs in mind:

  • General Liability insurance
  • Bond insurance
  • Workers’ Compensation insurance
  • Credit card processing fees
  • Web site fees
  • Other miscellaneous costs
  • Pet sitter salaries

Our pet sitters are paid with travel costs in mind. This sudden and high increase in gas directly affects their ability to afford to put fuel in their vehicles.

Carolinas' Critter Sitters fuel surcharge policy is as follows:

  • Price of Gas $2.75 or less = $0
  • Price of Gas $2.76 through $3.20 = Fuel Surcharge $0.50
  • Price of Gas $3.21 through $3.50 = Fuel Surcharge $0.75
  • Price of Gas $3.51 through $3.75 = Fuel Surcharge $1.00
  • Price of Gas $3.76 through $4.00 = Fuel Surcharge $1.25
  • Price of Gas $4.01 through $4.25 = Fuel Surcharge $1.50

On the 1st of each month, I will look at the average Charlotte Area fuel costs through AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

Adjustments to the fuel surcharge will be made as follows:

  • Appointments that begin in the previous month and end in the following month will remain at their current fuel surcharge rate because these appointments will have already been charged to your credit card.
  • Appointments that do NOT bridge 2 months will be adjusted higher or lower based on the schedule above.

2015 HOLIDAYS:

Holiday fee is $3.00 per visit for Occasional/Vacation pet sitting visits and $10 for Overnights.

Dates in which our Holiday fee applies are derived from federal holidays plus Valentine's Day. Rates are increased during these times due to the significant increase in the need for pet sitting. The holiday fees do not apply to the individual holiday only. Several days before or after the actual holiday may also fall under our Holiday Policy. This is applied to compensate the pet sitters for the difficult schedules they take on as well as 'giving up' having a holiday of their own.

Scheduling of visits: Pet sitting visits are scheduled during a 2-hour window. Your pet sitter will complete the pet sitting visit at the requested times as closely as possible. However, if we are caring for multiple pets, the times may be shifted slightly to accommodate our critter clients. We will do our very best to arrive at the appointed times.

Duration of visits: All pet sitting visits are 30 minutes, occasionally a bit more or a bit less time, depending on the needs of your pet(s), additional services requested, and our schedule.

Last minute reservations: Last minute things happen, and we will do our best to assist with your critter care needs. Because schedules need to be reviewed and shuffled to accommodate last minute pet sitting reservations, a $3 per pet sitting visit charge will be applied for reservations made within 5 days of your departure. This charge will apply to the pet sitting visits scheduled for the first 3 days of your reservation.

Rates are subject to change at any time.
